KEY COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT
 
The key output from the initiative shall be the facilitation and integration of economic activities of all member stakeholders involved in Agriculture thus enabling conversion of under- performing and non- performing agricultural farms into high yielding farms of quality products in demand in the market.

Key components of the initiative include Establishment of a robust IT enabled platform where the members can seek information, transact and make or receive electronic payments.
(i) Aggregation of responsive farmer community of about 100,000 with a cumulative farm land of 100,000 hectares cultivating priority crops as determined by the market demand
(ii) Enrollment of buyers/ exporters in key markets including manufacturers in processing Industries.
(iii) Enrollment of agricultural input providers: seeds, plantlets, fertilizers, pesticides, technology/methodology providers/consultants, test laboratories and so on.
(iv) Designating Warehousing facility providers in respective geographical regions
(v) Logistics services support providers in respective geographical regions
(v) Banks
(vi) Insurers
(vii) Legal consultants/resources
(viii) Farm Accounting assistance
(ix) Documentation support


Number of villages/municipalities it covers

The project shall be extended throughout Kerala, linking about half a million farmers, together with the rollout of the Akshaya e-Kendra Project in the state.


Piloting shall be done in Malappuram with the participation of the existing Akshaya e-Kendra Entrepreneurs. The facilities and resources of Akshaya e-Kendras already established throughout Malappuram District(About 550 e-Kendras) and poised for State wide rollout, can be leveraged to reach the masses of farming community and other Stakeholders in Agriculture.
In the pilot implementation, the initiative will cover all the 100 Gramapanchayats and 5 Municipalities in the district of Malappuram
